吾聞越之西子，善毀者不能閉其美；齊之無鹽，善美譽者不能掩其醜。「日中則昃，月滿則虧，」此天下之常理也。
答：我聽說越國的西施，善於誹謗他人的人也不能掩蓋她的美貌；齊國的無鹽（醜女），善於讚美的人也不能掩蓋她的醜陋。「太陽到了正午就要偏西，月亮盈滿就要虧缺，」這是天下不變的道理。
